Dr Anil Ohri

Dr Anil Ohri founded Regent's Park Healthcare and has served as its Chief Executive Officer since 2002.

Anil is an experienced healthcare entrepreneur passionate about delivering the best possible care for patients. He is a doctor with 40 years of healthcare and business management experience spanning a career as a medical officer and surgeon in the British Army and NHS. He holds an MBA with distinctions from London Business School.

Anil graduated from Southampton University medical school winning five undergraduate prizes. He then held a short service commission with the Royal Army Medical Corps and served as Regimental Medical Officer with the British Brigade of Gurkhas. He has been on operational tours that include the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm) and worked in British Military Hospitals in Hong Kong, Nepal and Cyprus. After leaving the Army, he undertook postgraduate surgical training working in NHS hospitals in Oxford and London. As part of his training, he was awarded a surgical research scholarship from Yale University in pathobiology, and then a Fullbright scholarship to study abroad.  Anil then transitioned his career from medicine to investment banking and then into business inorder to establish Regent's Park Healthcare.

Anil is the recipient of numerous national business & healthcare awards for leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation and societal impact. These awards include the inaugural 'Alumni Entrepreneurial Achievement Award' from London Business School, the 'Director of the Year Award' from the Institute of Directors in London, 'Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year Award' from Laing & Buisson, and UK Ernst & Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 Award for Societal Impact.'

Anil has been an independent member of the Southampton Enterprise Board since 2022, a Southampton University committee under the accountability of the Vice-President of Research and Enterprise. Its core responsibility is to oversee and champion enterprise and innovation, and to help the University deliver remarkable things. Anil was made a Freeman of the City of London (Guild of Entrepreneurs) since 2023, inorder to work with kindred spirits to disseminate business knowledge and support good causes.

Anil is regularly invited as a speaker on international healthcare and business conferences and advises a number of local and national charities. Underpinning his career as an entrepreneur, is a firm believe in ‘giving back’ to society. As such his career has always involved voluntary or pro bono activities where he can best use his skills and expertise, such as mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the globe.
